THINGS I’M THANKFUL FOR THIS THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Each Thanksgiving my family will sit around a table and say what we’re thankful for. Since I won’t be able to celebrate with my immediate family this year I figured why not take the time to put in words how I feel this Thanksgiving!

I Am Thankful For:

1. God

I don’t know where I would be without him, and I glad that I never have to know what that would be like! I’ve had a lot of highs and lows this year and knowing I had him looking out for me meant everything, it allowed me to trust my path and the person I’ve become. My relationship with God has grown so much this year and it’s completely changed me and my outlook on life for the better!

2. Family

Family means everything to me, and I come from a big one! I’m one of six, 4 sisters and one brother. God bless my father! There is never a dull moment, and I can count of them to always have my back. These people are my rock, they are ALWAYS there no matter what, and I couldn’t be more thankful to call them mine.

4. Good Health

I’ve been lucky enough to have good health most of my life which has allowed me to be able to do the things I love, the things that challenge myself physically.  I don’t know what it’s like to have to battle a major illness but I have had people close to me go through it and it’s a reminder of how precious and fragile life is. I’m so thankful that I have the ability to live mine in good health.

5. The Lessons

I would have to say this year would be my most ‘trying’ year. I’ve been put in situations that at the time I would ask, “Why me?”. But looking back at them, those struggles are what shaped me into who I am today. I’ve learned that nothing is permanent, there will be bad days, but I know that good will always follow. It might sound silly but I’m thankful for those bad days, because they’ve changed my attitude and outlook on life, I’m more grateful for the highs and when the lows come I know how to battle through it.

6. My Nomadic Soul

I’ve got the wonderlust gene that’s for sure! About 6months ago I decided to end my lease and travel, to experience new things, meet new people, and grow as person. It’s by far been the best decision I’ve ever made! When you’re on your own and responsible for just you, you learn so much about yourself. I trust myself more, I’ve removed all negativity from my life, I’ve learned when to put myself first, I don’t tolerate BS, and truly know what it is to live life to it’s fullest.  Not having a home or being on a strict schedule is the most liberating feeling I’ve ever known.

7. The Mountains

This year was the first time I’d ever actually visited Colorado. In March I came out to visit my family, was going to stay for a week and ended up staying a whole month! I can’t put into words how being surrounded by giant mountains feels. I literally fell in love. They put everything into perspective, and make you realize how small your problems really are. They day in and day out inspire me to live bigger.

8. Armed Forces

I’m so thankful to everyone who serves this country, who lay their lives on the line to preserve my freedom. It’s such a selfless and noble thing, and to you I am forever grateful!

9. YOU

I’m thankful for all you! There have been several times this year that I’ve wondered how did I get so lucky!? I get to wake up every day and work with some amazing women. I get to positively impact people lives and I cannot tell you how much joy I get from that. The support that so many of you bring to my life is quite amazing and it doesn’t go unnoticed. THANK YOU!!!
